Lavender Jadeite & Pink Abalone Faced Bead

Lavender Jadeite from Turkey is one of the few places in the world this color is found. The translucency is not high but the colors are very vibrant and sought after. This bead is a nice barrel shape bead that has been faced with a thin layer of Pacific Pink Abalone. Not noticeable from when observed straight on which is the intent of the design. This type of feature is all about the hidden value. When one is wearing this design, someone may have already noticed the nice colored bead but when the see it from a slight angle, there is a surprise and more to the bead then the first observed. These are always a conversation piece.

    Hi,
The design of abalone is great. Will the joining part of abalone and jade withstand water?

      Hi Lisa,

      Thanks for the question.

Unlike many, I use a special epoxy used in the circuit board industry to withstand cycling temperatures. Many epoxies can handle water but few can hand what’s call the temperature difference changes between two different materials. I have people wearing these items in hot tubs and one is an avid surfer. Many do not take them off showers and all. So, yes, they can handle water but understand shell will wear down over time if exposed daily like I mentioned.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Allan
