This is a nice “gemmy” Vesuvianite Bead faced with Paua Abalone shell from New Zealand. Nicely translucent as shown in one of the pictures. Vesuvianite is a fascinating mineral found originally on the volcano, Mt Vesuvius in Italy. Vesuvianite is a somewhat rare and beautiful gemstone that can rival many other minerals for interest among mineral collectors and jewelry makers. This Grade A Vesuvianite is sourced from the Happy Camp mine in Northern California.
