This is a very nice “Ocean Polished Slick” from Big Sur California. The colors are a bluish gray with some black and silver. There is chatoyance within this gem that can not be captured in pictures. This is a wonderful piece that has not been worked at all. A “Slick” means a stone or gem that has been formed and polished by nature only. Slicks are found in rivers, on land (Sand blasted over time) and from the ocean. The only known location on earth to find “Ocean Slicks” is from the Big Sur Coast in California. Slicks are the most coveted and sought after pieces of jade in world, especially if the rind has been worn off to show the beauty within like in this specimen. This piece has a wonderful feel and look to it and it is extremely rare to find any high quality “Ocean Slicks” for sale anywhere. This piece was found while freediving in 25 feet of water.
